Rating System

In order to review and re-rank the top 100 records of all time, we needed to devise a system of scoring. For this system, we give three reviewers the chance to offer a rating of up to 33 1/3 points per record (like the RPM on a vinyl LP). This means there are 99.99 possible points total per record.

The lead reviewers are Chris and Tom, and various music lovers in their lives will pinch hit as the third reviewer. The numerical scores roughly translate to this grading scale:

33 1/3 is an A++

28 is a B

23 is a C

18 is a D

13 is an F

D and F likely won’t be coming into play here, as we are limiting our subjects to records that have already stood the test of time.
